He is survived by: his parents, Joseph P. Burns and Michelle Heckendorn (Lee); his sisters, Sarah Burns, Colleen Piacentine (Jim) and Sheila Burns; his nieces, Lauren and Meghan Piacentine; his aunts and uncles, Lui (Rog Parkin), Doug (Patti Spencer), Bill (Sherri Spencer) and Pat Kava; and his cousins, Laura Spencer and Stephen Spencer.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Joey's memory to the Brain Trauma Foundation or to any animal adoption/rescue of your choice.
