He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Hess and Martha Hess (Havens); his daughter Kimberly Renee Hess; and his siblings, Carlos Hess, Eugene Hess, Garland Hess, James Hess, Cornelia Akers, Eunice Vipperman and Edith Jones.
He is survived by: his sons, Marvin Burke Hess and Rodney Dean Hess (Diane); and his sister Lou Mae Parks. He is also survived by grandchildren, fourteen (14) great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Marvin's name to Charlotte Hall Veteran's Home or St. Mary's County Hospice.
