He was predeceased by: his brother Patrick McNamara. He is survived by: his children, James J. McNamara III (Marina) and Bridget McNamara; his brothers, Steve McNamara (Linda) and John McNamara (Antoinette); and his significant other Sabrina Givens. He is also survived by two nieces; two nephews; and three grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mac's memory to HEROES, Inc., 1200 29th St. N.W., Washington, DC 20007.
