It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Harrieton Mike Merritt of Laplata, Maryland, born in Smithville, West Virginia, who passed away on October 30, 2020, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, John Merritt and Verbia Merritt; his wife Carol Merritt; and his siblings, J. Kester Merritt and Maxie G. Seabolt.
He is survived by : his former life partner Ruby Godfrey; his children, Gary Merritt (Dulce), John Merritt, Jeffrey Merritt (Beverly) and Susan Rison (Charles); and his brother Ken Merritt. He is also survived by nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
