He is survived by: his wife Kathryn; his daughters, Julia Massey (Wade) of Wake Forest and Stacy Humphreys (Buddy) of Owings Mills, Maryland.; and his grandchildren, Denver, Raina Massey, Camden and Kaylie Humphreys.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 175 in Severna Park, MD, the National Active and Retired Federal Employees (NARFE), and the National Cryptologic Foundation (NCF).
