With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Orlando Antonio Gutierrez of Lanham, Maryland, who passed away on September 27, 2020 at the age of 92. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Flora Izaguirre and Antonio Gutierrez; his brother Jorge Gutiérrez (Maria); his children, Peter B. Gutiérrez (Jane) of Columbia Station, OH, Antonio O. Gutiérrez (Marsha), Helenmary Gutiérrez Ball (Julian) of Owings, MD, Marco A. Gutiérrez (Rebecca Birch) of Eagle River, AK and Alex D. Gutiérrez of New York, NY; his grandchildren, Erin Gutiérrez of San Diego, CA, Joshua E. Gutiérrez (Ryan Conviser) of Los Angeles, CA, Alex Gutiérrez Ball of Philadelphia, PA, Everett Gutiérrez Ball of Atlanta, GA, Ian A. Gutiérrez (Lizz Kern) of Kensington, MD, Emily Gutiérrez of Columbia Station, OH, Pallas M. Gutiérrez and Garrett P. Gutiérrez of New York, NY; and his great grandchildren, Owen, Beckett, Milo, Maren Gutiérrez of Los Angeles, CA and Samuel E. Gutiérrez of Kensington, MD. He was also cherished by nieces and nephews.

“We were saddened to get our christmas card returned... it was so sad when Helen died and now Orlando. Your parents (and grandparents) we close friends of my Dad and Mom Dr and Mrs Bill and Sue Olsen. I got to spend more time with Mr Gutierrez rather it was my occasional trips to NASA and playing volleyball (was he the "bionic bouncer" or was that another guy). Or my best memories were canoe trips. He taught me many useful things, many should not be repeated, but his advice on swearing, tops!”
