She was predeceased by: her parents, Ellis Spencer Currin and Beatrice Davis Currin; her husband Lewis Powers; and her siblings, Calvin Currin, Rose Adams (Eddie Adams), Flora Dean and Doris Ferbee.
She is survived by: her sisters, Helen Amis, Jean Evans (Roy Evans) and Sylvia Cherry; and her niece Crystal Currin.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Metropolitan Baptist Church (1200 Mercantile Ln, Upper Marlboro, MD 20774).
