He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy Jones and Annie Jones; his grandson Darnell Carter; and his brothers, Eddie and Raymond Jones.
He is survived by: his child Chandra Linette Jones; his wife Viola Jones (Virginia); his child Kim Carter; his grandchildren, Jason Carter, Antonio Carter, Jimmie Jones, Brittany Carter, Marcus Carter, Quentin Jones and Donnie Artis, Jr.; his siblings, Minnie Jones, Cleveland Jones (Estelle), Elneta Jones, Lenora Farmer, Annie Wiggins, Gloria Jones, Betty Bazemore and Percy Jones Jr. (Geneva); and his parents-in-law, Thomastine Wynne, Glendora Johnson, Rev. Thomas Wynne (Ellen) and Zolena Wynne. He is also survived by nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
