She was predeceased by: her husband Douglas Darby Jr.; her sons, Charles "Alphonso" and Jerome "Jerry" Kerns; her mother Florence McIntosh; and her brother Charles Gibson.
She is survived by: her granddaughter Nia Francis-Evans; her great grandchildren, Pashince Francis and Cayla Burrell; her cousins, Herbert Allmon, Walter Allmon, Alice Bowser, Molly Lacks and Shirley Watson; and her goddaughter Iris "Petey" Howard. She is also survived by loving family members and friends.
