He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph "Hammie" Simmons and Ethel Wynn Simmons; his daughter Merium Ann Simone; and his siblings, Margaret Diamond of Virginia, Mary Arlene Simmons, John H. Simmons, Alfred E. Simmons and Joseph H. Simmons.
He is survived by: his siblings, Barbara Ann Rogman and Harold E. Simmons; his sons, James and Rob; his daughter-in-law Julie Anne Simmons; his grandchildren, Kathryn Anne Simmons and Samuel Alan Simmons (Jennifer Simmons); and his great grandchildren, Charlotte Marie Simmons and Everett Alan Simmons. He is also survived by numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
