He is survived by: his wife Barbara Armstead Chopp; and his children, Hale Armistead Chopp, Michael Todd Chopp, Michelle S. Michaels, Melissa Blyne Zweifel and Martha Chopp Clarke. He is also survived by six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
