Lucille Virginia Matthews Obituary
Lucille Virginia Matthews of Waldorf, MD died on August 23, 2014 at the University of MD Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD. She was 79 years old.
Lucille was a grocery clerk for 25 plus years with Giant Food. She loved animals, bowling, her Sundays watching her Washington Redskins, playing games and cards, listening to Elvis Presley and country music. Most of all, she loved her family and friends.
She is the daughter of the late Harold William Conner and the late Doris Lucille Smith Conner. She is also predeceased by her husband, Edward William Matthews, Sr.; son, Edward William Matthews, Jr.; one grandson, Jamie Lee Lloyd; and two brothers.
She is survived by her sons, Michael Matthews and Steve Matthews; her daughters, Sandy Smith, Donna Meader, and Sherry May; her brother, Jerry Conner; and her sister, Barbara Morgan. She is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild.
Friends received on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 5-8PM with a Funeral Service at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment at the Ft. Lincoln Cemetery, 3401 Bladensburg Road, Brentwood, MD 20722.
