EDWARD ROBERTS, JR age 74 of La Plata, Maryland.
On Friday, March 10, 2023, Edward Roberts, Jr., 74, beloved husband of Deborah C. Roberts, peacefully left his earthly home in LaPlata, MD, and entered his eternal home while surrounded by his loved ones. Ed was born on August 01, 1948, to the late Edward Roberts, Sr., and Mary Hoffman Roberts, in Washington, DC. Ed grew up alongside his younger brother Stephen and attended Central High school in Capitol Heights, MD. While attending high school, "Eddie" began his career with the Great Atlantic and.
Ed was a man of great faith, and he and his wife were members of Fellowship Church. Never was he afraid to express his love for the Lord, and always encouraged others to accept Christ as their Lord and Savior to ensure that they would be with him again one day. Ed was a loving husband to his wife, Deborah, and a dedicated father and stepfather to Michael E. Roberts (Andrea Eberly), Brian P. Roberts, Neal D. Lutz, Justin M. Lutz (Carla), and Colleen N. Lutz, loving grandfather of Christopher.
Andrew, Victoria, Brooklyn, Tyler, Jordan, Drake, Tristan, Anthony, and Carleigh. He was a loving and protective brother to his only sibling, Stephen K. Roberts. Whether you knew him as "Ed," "Eddie," "Ed the Fed," "Fast Eddie," or "Pop Pop," you had the unique experience of a lifetime. He loved his Lord, his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his friends. Regardless of bloodline, Ed treated his children, stepchildren, grandchildren, and step-grandchildren equally; they were simply family. Ed never met a stranger and often described others as "the nicest guy/gal you'd ever want to meet.". Ironically, he never knew people described him in precisely the same manner. Visitation will be held from 12-2 pm, with the celebration of life service to follow at Fellowship Church in White Plains, MD, on Saturday, March 18, 2023. Interment at Maryland Veteran's Cemetery in Cheltenham, MD, will be scheduled for a future date. For those unable to attend, access to the Celebration of Life service will be available here via the "LIVE" link. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fellowship Church, The Salvation Army, National Law Enforcement Officer's Memorial Fund (NLEOMF) or Concerns of Police Survivors (C.O.P.S).
