He was predeceased by: his parents, Herman Herndon and Sarah Frances Herndon; and his wife Marilynn Joyce Herndon. He is survived by: his sons, D. Craig Herndon, Glen R. Herndon and Christopher R. Herndon; and his great grandchildren, Ronnie and Shirley Blush. He is also survived by nine grandchildren.
