It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Clay Allen Benfield (La Plata, Maryland), born in Lenoir, North Carolina, who passed away on June 12, 2020, at the age of 65, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Doyle Ernest Benfield and Ruby Lee Benfield; his siblings, Betty Hudson, Peggy Morgan, Randall and Rodger Benfield; and his nephew Steven Benfield.
He is survived by: his wife Charlotte Benfield; his sons, Thomas (Lindsey Benfield) and Jason Benfield; his brother Doug Benfield; his grandchildren, Constance, Daniel, Khloe and Emma Benfield; his nephews, Roger Benfield, Jeff Gerek, Matthew McCan and Stan Edwards; and his great-nephew Jesse DeStacy.
In accordance with COVID-19 guidelines, masks are required.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the American Cancer Society.
