He is survived by: his parent Lucille Carpenter; his wife Donna; his daughter Karen Shifflett (John) of Faulkner, MD; and his sisters, Lucy Clements (Steve) of La Plata, MD and Nancy Taylor (Doug) of Indian Head, MD. He is also survived by 10 nieces and nephews.
