She was predeceased by: her mother Margaret V. Payne; her parents-in-law, James R. and Mary C. Coates; her great grandchild Briar Anderson Bennett; and her close friend Beth Bowling.
She is survived by: her husband James R. Coates, Jr.; her daughters, BJ Bennett (Rich) and Betsy Chase (Brad); her grandchildren, Jordin Bennett (Zach Borror) and Morgin Miller (Joey); her siblings, James McGill and Denise Reavis (Tom); her sister-in-law Sharon Zdobysz (Mike); and her great grandchild Rowan Cypress Miller. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
