He was predeceased by: his parent Marshall C. Smallwood. He is survived by: his parent Ruth Virginia Kelican Smallwood; his wife Ruth; his children, Kim Hagan (Tim) and Terry (Wendy); his grandchildren, Tim Hagan, Gabrielle, Lydia Smallwood, Ashleigh and Sabrina Bohrer; his great grandchildren, Alexis Hagan and Cody Hagan; and his sisters, Juanita Shaffer, Norma Kenney and Mary C. "Kitty" Sheldon.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of Frederick County Maryland, which helped him and the family tremendously during the last year and half of his life or Brownsville Church of the Brethren Cemetery Fund or the Harpers Ferry/Bolivar Veterans group.
