He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Knotts and Dorothy Knotts. He is survived by: his wife Lillie Knotts; his children, Haroula Truffer of Dinwiddie, VA and Charles Knotts, III of Sandston, VA; and his siblings, Kathy Knotts, Leigh Huelskamp and Kevin Knotts. He is also survived by four grandchildren.
