He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles Sylvester and Carrie Oneda Hostler Spielman; and his brothers, Ronald, Kenneth Spielman and Charles Hostler.
He is survived by: his sister Ruth Conway (Donald Lescalleet); his nephew Marshall Conway Jr.; his children, William, Kasey and Marsha McDaniel; his grandchildren, Amanda and Murphy; his godchildren, Patricia Pauley (William) and Gary Smith Jr.; his close friend Pete Smith (Wanda Troxell); and also, Jacob and Joshua Small.
