He was predeceased by: his wife Carolyn D. Wolfe; his parents, Ralph Riggs and Lillian Riggs (Barrick); his son John William Riggs; his siblings, Ralph Riggs Jr. (Betty Riggs), Glenn Paul Riggs, Clara Flook (Merhle Flook) and Mary Mason (Willard Mason); and his great-niece Brooke Riggs.

He is survived by: his daughters, Patti Riggs and Wendy Ritchie (Darrell Ritchie); his granddaughter Ashley Ritchie; and his siblings, Mamie Butts, Richard Riggs (Betty Riggs) and Charles Riggs (Pat Riggs). He is also survived by many other nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Kline Hospice House, Mt Zion (Haugh's) Lutheran Church or the Michael J. Fox Foundation.
