With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Iolene Cecilia Brown (Kensington, Maryland), who passed away on January 24, 2022 at the age of 96. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Gau and Frances Gau (Meyer); her son Joseph Robert; and her siblings, Wilfred (Viola), Francis "Frank" (Loris), Sylvester "Sy", Leo (Bernice), Mary Agnes, Rose Marie "Rosie" Thalhuber (Donald), Virginia "Ginny" Deziel (Edward) and Mary Ann "Petie" Stickney (Stephen).
She is survived by: her children, Mary Ann, Timothy James (Ann), Patrick Francis (Melissa), Barbara Louise, Susan Marie (Tim) and Thomas Michael; her husband Robert "Bob" Brown of Kensington, Maryland; her daughters, Mary Smith (John) and Brenda Funk (Gilbert); her brother Ervin Gau (Rosemary); her sister-in-law Lois Gau; her grandchildren, Johanna Smith (Hussam), Danielle Matava (RJ), Monica Smith (Jules Beal), Caroline Smith (Jim Habig), Suzanne Smith (Ted Leugers), Casey Brown (Baris Yuksel), Bayard Brown, Robert Smith (Sarah Woodson), Ben Brown, Courtney Lorenz, Conor Brown, Luke Lorenz, John Paul Smith, Patrick Brown, Rob Brown, Madison Lorenz, Annemarie Brown, Audrey Brown, Cecilia Funk, Zoey Lorenz and Mirabella Funk; and her great grandchildren, Naomi Bakken, Leah Bakken, Kieran Bakken, Abigail Matava, Ben Matava, Bella Matava, Peter Matava, Desi Beal, Gregory Matava, Ellie Beal, Judith Matava, Evie Habig, Theresa Matava, Ian Habig and Rowan Beal. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
