He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Lloyd and Freda Gertrude Clipp Canfield; and his siblings, Joyce Canfield, Lorraine Schroyer, Carroll "Red" Canfield, William "Bill" Canfield and Charles "Butch" Canfield.
He is survived by: his wife Mary E. Ingram Canfield; his daughter Jill A. Miller (John C.) of Keedysville, MD; his granddaughter Morgan R. Hough (Nick A.) of Boonsboro, MD; his great grandchild Wyatt A. Hough of Boonsboro, MD; and his sister Darlene Albritton of Sharpsburg, MD..
