He was predeceased by: his children, Brian P. Hiteshew and Mary L. Hiteshew. He is survived by: his parents, William Dorsey and Helen Phyllis Hiteshew (Allenbaugh); his wife Deborah L. Hiteshew (Brinkley); and his children, William D. Hiteshew, III, Michael D. Hiteshew, Michelle S. Lloyd (Hiteshew) and Amy L. Kalb (Hiteshew). He is also survived by 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, as well as his surviving brothers and sister.
