She was predeceased by: her parents, Howard Oaks and Hattie Oaks (Wright); and her siblings, Carl, Clifford Oaks, Melba White, Melster Hall and Shirley Atkins.
She is survived by: her children, Teresa Lynn Cook-Simpkins (Curtis Michael Simpkins), James Daniel Cook (Karyn) and Phillip Dale Cook (Maria); her brothers, Howard "Junior" Oaks, Ernest Oaks, David Oaks and Aubrey Oaks; and her grandchildren, Sierra Wells (Cook), Daniel, Aaron and Joshua Cook.
