He was predeceased by: his wife Edith L. Miller; and his parents, William B Miller and Amanda Miller. He is survived by: his children, Linda Roller (Fred), Charles A. Miller Jr., Gwen Simpson (Gary), Kevin J. Miller (Paula) and Robin D. Kennedy (Robert); and his sister JoAnne Goolsbee. He is also survived by fifteen grandchildren, twenty-seven great-grandchildren, and eight great-great-grandchildren.
