He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard Edward "Big Eddie" Jr. and Ruby Heise (Brown); and his cousin Allen Burnell. He is survived by: his wife Peggy (Eck); his sister Kay Volman (Jerry); his children, Richard Edward "Ward" Heise IV and Leanne Guerrero (Michael); and his grandchildren, Kylie, Jackson, Niko, Owen and Paxton. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Marbury Baptist Church (4670 Bicknell Rd, Marbury, MD 20658). A funeral service was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Trinity Memorial Gardens (3165 Mattawoman Beantown Rd, Waldorf, MD 20601).
