It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Margaret (Peggy) Vivian Posey of Indian Head, Maryland, who passed away on December 23, 2024, at the age of 93, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Herbert S. Dern and Margaret G. Dern; her husband Charles H. Posey; her daughter Rae Ann Shores; her grandchildren, Ashleigh Posey and Christopher Posey; and her great grandchild Bryce Posey.
She is survived by: her sons, Bill (Donna), Gary (Debbie) and Buck (Becky); her son-in-law David Shores; her grandchildren, Brooks Posey (April), Kevin Posey (Joy), Bucky Posey, Taelyr Celia (Anthony) and Kurt Shores; her great grandchildren, Ty Posey (Shaina), Kaila Posey (Addison), Seth Posey, Breeana Posey, Cameryn Posey and Andrew Skatzes; her grandchildren, Reagan Posey and McKenzie Brown; her great great grandchild Landon; her daughter-in-law Sue McCormick; her caregiver Charmaine Samuels-Cole; and also Tami.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Raymond Funeral Chapel (5635 Washington Ave, La Plata, MD 20646). A funeral service was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Thursday, January 2nd 2025 at the Trinity Memorial Gardens (3165 Mattawoman Beantown Rd, Waldorf, MD 20601).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret's name to Hospice of the Chesapeake, 2505 Davis Road, Waldorf, Maryland 20603.
