She was predeceased by: her parents, Jacob Shives and Annie Warehoff Shives; her adoptive father William T. (Elizabeth R. Bowie); her spouse Sidney Allison Bowie; her brothers, Walter O. Shives and Benjamin F. Bowie; her grandson Darren Bowie; and her great grandchild Christopher Adams.
She is survived by: her half-sister Mildred Shives Willett; her grandchildren, Lisa Wisniewski (Mel), Tim Klares (Michelle), Mark Johnson (Lenda), Suzanne Johnson and Lauren Bowie; and also, Gail Klares (Doug) of Lusby, Warren Bowie (Jeanne) of Indian Head and Linda Simons (Rusty) of LaPlata. She is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, four great- great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
