She was predeceased by: her son Melvin Eugene Hicks "Bo"; her parent Nancy Hicks; her siblings, James M. and Doris E. Hicks; and her sister-in-law Mary Riley.
She is survived by: her children, Gwendolyn Chase (John), Sandra Swann (Terrence L.) and Joseph Hicks (LaWan); her grandchildren, Ryan Hicks (Kia), Chloé Swann and Terrence A. Swann; her great grandchild Briana Hicks; her siblings, William Hicks and Catherine Hicks; and her aunt Mary Queen. She is also survived by nieces, nephews.
