He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Nathaniel and Nellie Ann Ford Bowman; his wife Dorothy Mae Bowman; his daughter Cheryl Crochran; his siblings, Helen Bowman Smith, Leroy Bowman, Joseph Bowman and William Bowman; and his siblings-in-law, Rosetta Jean Dorsey Bowman, Catherine Ann Baker Sampson, David Baker, Ronald Baker, Reuben Baker and Grant Baker Jr..
He is survived by: his sons, Kevin, Timothy and Melvin Bowman (Gertrude); his grandchildren, Elton Crochran, Malik Stephens and Talia Bowman; his great grandchildren, Elijah and Ellayna Crochran; his son-in-law Bryan Crochran; his sisters, Elizabeth Butler and Annie Jean Stuckey; his sisters-in-law, Annette Bowman, Mary Baker Blackmon and Jacqueline Baker; and also, Rufus Bowman, Howard Ford, Spaulding Ford and Francis Maddox. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
