It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Ethel Viola Rice of Ijamsville, Maryland, born in Frederick, Maryland, who passed away on January 19, 2022, at the age of 106, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Guy Plunkard and Emma Plunkard (Leather); her husband Charles L. Rice; her daughter Joanne E Dupuie; her grandson Todd Alan Rice; her kitty Bootsie; and her siblings, Lewis Plunkard, Herbert Plunkard, Roy Plunkard, John Plunkard, Harry Plunkard, Donald Plunkard, Jim Plunkard, Carrie Brandenburg, Margaret Gardiner and Ruby Shaff.
She is survived by: her children, Violet I. Rice of Frederick, MD, Robert L. (Bob), Thomas E. Rice, Sr. (Tom), Frederick, MD, Ernest F. Rice (Ernie) of Winchester, VA, Larry E. Rice (Margaret) of Unionville, VA and R. Eileen Rice of Ijamsville, MD; her grandchildren, Amber Wolfe (Eric), Shawn Rice, Thomas Rice, Jr. (Patsy), Tim Rice (Tessie Gladhill), Teresa Stevens (Doug), Wade Rice, Dawn Sparkman (Paul) and Kevin Perry; and her son-in-law Marshall B. Dupuie of Frederick, MD. She is also survived by her 11 great grandchildren and 4 great-great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and special friends.
