With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Dorothy E. Holland of Ijamsville, Maryland, who passed away on April 21, 2023 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband Robert Preston Holland; her parents, Herman Leroy Carter, Sr. and Marcella Snowden Thompson of Virginia; and her siblings, Merle Thompson, John Thompson, Elmer Thompson, William Thompson, Herman Carter, Jr., George Carter, Vernice Dorsey, Ursula Stewart and Mary Lyles.
She is survived by: her children, Donald Dorsey and Valerie Dorsey; her brothers-in-law, Roland Dorsey and Merle Lyles; her stepdaughter Debra Jacobs (Walter); her stepgrandson Adam; and her close friends, Arlene Whims, Nancy Randolph, Catherine Biggus, Brenda Foreman and Thelma Ambush. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
