It is with great sadness that we announce the death of David Torgerson (Hyattsville, Maryland), who passed away on August 24, 2024, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of David Torgerson to pay them a last tribute.

As we bid David farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For David is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Laura Charlotte and Alf Henry Torgerson. He is survived by: his wife Judy; his children, Jesse, Laura Jean, Amy and Eric; and his brother Ron Torgerson (Vigi). He is also survived by his children, six grandchildren.

A funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, September 21st 2024 at 9:30 AM at the St. Ambrose Catholic Church (3107 63rd Ave, Cheverly, MD 20785).

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the St. Ambrose chapter of the Saint Vincent de Paul Society, 6301 Jason Street, Cheverly, MD 20785, Greenpeace USA, or the Palestine Children's Relief Fund.

“Dave was a good friend of mine when I was working for the USDA's Economic Research Service and when we both taught at the USDA Graduate School in the 80's and 90's.Fortunately, we got to know Dave and his young family very well during this time.My family enjoyed his family's company on many outings in the Capitol City area. He had a keen mind and shared his knowledge with his colleagues and students. Dave will be greatly missed by many. Our deepest condolences to the family. Felix Spinelli”
