He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Maurice Appel and Jean Appel; his wife Roz Appel; his brother William Appel (Marilynn Appel); his children, Tracy Hoover (William "Fred" Hoover) and Louis Appel; his grandchildren, Brittney Farace (Tyler Farace) and Nickolas Hoover; his nieces, Jessica Swadow, Rebecca Kazin and Amanda Fries; and his nephew Brett Swadow.
