He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Leo Nelson and Edna Mildred Katherine Nims (Phipps); his wife Sandra Kay Nims; his children, Sally Simpson (Steve) of Millersville, Cathy Thompson (David) of Chesapeake Beach, Leo Nelson Nims III (Mary) of Chesapeake Beach, Laura Annan (Buddy) of Lusby, Robert Nims (Leslie) of Parowan, UT, Eileen Hudson (John) of Prince Frederick, Craig Bowen (Natalie) of Huntingtown and Scott Bowen (Mandy) of Huntingtown; and his brother Charles Nims of Tennessee. He was also cherished by 23 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren.
