He is survived by: his wife Jacqueline Vito; his children, Mary Ellen Gilbert and David Gilbert Jr.; his stepson Harry Sager; his grandchildren, Danielle Gilbert, David Gilbert III, Luke Sager, Samantha Sager, Tyler Hicker and Brandon Hickey; his great grandchildren, Gunner Jones, Joelle Jones, Piper Hickey and Riley Hickey; and his siblings, Madeline Hutchins, Leon Gilbert Jr. (Linda), Tim Gilbert (Theresa), Ann Dibble and Gareth MacKenzie.
Visitation was held on Friday, March 28th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Rausch Funeral Home–lusby (20 American Ln, Lusby, MD 20657). A funeral service was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Rausch Funeral Home (20 American Ln, Lusby, MD 20657). A burial was held on Saturday, March 29th 2025 at the Follow Central Methodist Cemetery (3175 Hallowing Point Rd, Prince Frederick, MD 20678).
