He was predeceased by: his parent Elmer Alexander, Sr.; his siblings, Elmer Alexander, Jr., Hollis Jones, Sr. and Carrie Lemon; and his great grandchild Tyler Shores.
He is survived by: his parent Amanda Hopkins Alexander; his children, Jay Shores (Becky), Gary Shores, George Alexander Jr (Leny), Lisa Wilkinson and Victoria Ward; his grandchildren, Tracy Horner (Stephen), Lonetta Shores, Angie Siver (Jason), Amber Taft (Blake), Jessie Spies (Dustin), Robert Figgs (Johanna), James Alexander (Megan) and Gary Shores Jr (Susan); and his brother Woodrow Jones (Dorothy). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
