He was predeceased by: his parents, John Matthew Harris, Sr. and Florence Johnson Harris; his spouse Shirley Zendgraft Harris; and his siblings, Marianna Cooper, Thomas G. Harris, Betty Jo Finholm and James R. Harris.
He is survived by: his children, Joanne Sissum (late Bruce Sissum), Jeanne Weaver (Jody) and John Matthew Harris, III (Dana); his grandchildren, Jenniffer Herrera, Melina Danko (Frank), Adrienne Harris, Kaley Hanlon (Mike), Mallory Harris and John "Jack" Harris IV; his great grandchildren, Lindsey Herrera, John-Paul Herrera, Mason Danko, Mia Danko and Emory Hanlon; and his siblings, Gloria Terlouw and Norwood Nelson. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
