Sahn (Sahn Miah (Blondet-Drake)) Miah Obituary
Sahn Oree Miah (Blondet-Drake), a longtime resident of the Poconos, passed away on Friday, Feb. 16, 2018, surrounded by loved ones, in Maryland. Born August 1949 in East Stroudsburg, she lovingly bore five children. She attended East Stroudsburg High School and King’s College for psychology.
Sahn Miah was a strong-willed survivor, a woman of warm wit, resourceful intellect, profound faith and unending generosity. She adapted to all of the many challenges life brought her way; all the while, never losing her smile, her joy, and her huge love and compassion for others. We will all tremendously love and miss Sahn!
She is survived by her children: Tony Blondet Jr.; Shamane Blondet Gardner and her husband, Dwayne Gardner; Veronica LaBoy Carroll and her husband, Joe Carroll; and Rosendo LaBoy aka “Rez” and Karen Garcia; Rosendo LaBoy Sr. (father to Veronica and Rosendo); and her grandkids, that brought her never-ending joy: Christopher Carroll, Russell Schaum, Joshua Gardner, Brian Gardner and Harmony Carroll.
She is also survived by her beloved sisters, Tara Miah and Evangelist Tsa Ali; nephews and niece: Lance Gilbert, Miles Gilbert, Angelique Ahedo and Arnez Ahedo; great-great-nieces: Heaven Ahedo, Analiah Ahedo and Kalaya Ahedo; and many other beloved family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved late husband, Paul Drake; Antonio Blondet Sr.; mother Veronica Beville Ali; father Eleman Miah; son Virgilio Blondet; and niece Lenetta Beanum.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to the Mandrin Inpatient Care Center/Chesapeake Hospice House, which provided comfort to Sahn during her final days. For those who desire, contributions may be made to this organization, in memory of Sahn Miah.
The viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 23, at Beall Funeral Home, 6512 NW Crain Highway, Bowie, Maryland. Church funeral services will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m., followed by a light reception, Saturday, Feb. 24, at Solid Rock Church, 5401 Good Luck Road, Riverdale, Maryland.
