He was predeceased by: his father Samuel Matthews. He is survived by: his son Damon (Colleen); his wife Nanine; his sons, Maurice Louis Sr. (Pamela) and L. Marvin (Gina); his grandchildren, Maurice Louis Jr., Mikayla, Peri, Jaryd, Mason and Bryce Louis; his close friend Michael Betts; and his brothers, Jimmy (Audrey Johnson), Harry Jennings, Wilson (Emma Hebron), Sonny Trapp, Ernest Cantrell and Aisha Heyward. He is also survived by goddaughter, (Jocelyn Williams); nieces, nephews.
