He was predeceased by: his parents, Emory Roosevelt and Carrie Zemora Buffington (Crabbs); his wife Margaret Anne Buffington; his siblings, Richard Buffington (Della), Mary Jane Nevius and Reba Derr (Allan); and his brother-in-law Edward Heltibridle.
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Michael R. (Deborah Stewart) of Westminster and Jane A. (Randahl Johnson) of Thurmont; his sisters, Linda M. (Marvin Brewer) and Jeanne Heltibridle of Manassas, VA; his brother-in-law Jack Nevius of Westminster; his grandchildren, Gregory Stewart (Heather), Christopher Johnson and Sarah Cantrell (Tim); and his great grandchildren, Owen Stewart, Emma Stewart, Brayden Johnson, Arabella Cantrell and Blake Johnson. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
