She was predeceased by: her husband Donald Maisel; and her daughter Deborah Buffington. She is survived by: her son Ronald Bessling; her stepson Dennis Maisel; her sibling-in-law Beverly Hoerl; and her siblings, Sylvia Buckner and Charles Ward. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Marie's memory to the American Cancer Society.
