He was predeceased by: his parents, Doris Reckline and Charles William Mattis, Sr.; his wife Myrtle Issy Mattis; his son Donald Severe, Jr.; and his grandchild Erin.
He is survived by: his sons, Charles Severe (Beverly) and Rodney Mattis (Crystal); his daughter-in-law Doreen Morsberger (David); and his grandchildren, Dan, Roxanne, Lindsay, Cara, Brittany, Kelsey, Michael, Ceara, Leland and Jacob. He is also survived by several great grandchildren.
Donations may be made in Charles's name to the American Cancer Society.
