He was predeceased by: his father Charles D. Monroe, Sr.; his stepfather Paul F. Grierson; and his siblings, Charles D. Monroe, Jr., Ronald W. Monroe, Karon E. Compton and Dale R. Monroe.
He is survived by: his mother Hilda Monroe-Grierson; his children, Kiya Monroe-White and Alan Monroe, Jr.; his grandchildren, Keisha White, Chelsea White, Brandon White, Alan M. Monroe, Justin Monroe and Ariel Everly; his great grandchildren, Maleyah Weldon, Deandre Hutchinson, Jr. and Chance Hutchinson; and his siblings, Mark E. Monroe, Glen D. Monroe, Sandra Jacobs and Bryan Monroe. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends.
