He was predeceased by: his parents, William Edward Donaldson, Sr. and Muriel Donaldson (Melrose); his wife Barbara Ann Donaldson (Eld); his sister Dorothea Donaldson Toovey; and his friend Addy Karpowitz.

He is survived by: his children, Bret Donaldson (Kimberly) and Lori Shillingburg; his grandchildren, Tyler Shillingburg, Seyth Kretzer and Stephan Phillips; his great grandchild Keylee Kretzer; and his nephew Bill Toovey.
