In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Shirley Mae had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Shirley Mae may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles L. Howell and Edith Howell (Teach); her grandparents, Lee and Neva Howell; her husband Charles Donald "Don" Hovermale; and her sister Sylvia McCray.
She is survived by: her children, Darrell Hovermale (Cheri) of Williamsport, MD and Kathy R. Hovermale (Amorey Cheney) of Newport, OR; and her granddaughter Lindsay Hovermale. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Minnich Funeral Home (415 E Wilson Blvd, Hagerstown, MD 21740). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, February 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the same location.
