He was predeceased by: his parents, Arthur Franklin and Irene Dolan Chambers; and his wife Dorothy Lorraine Chambers. He is survived by: his children, Laurie Chambers, Russell L. Chambers Jr. (Marge), Stephen Chambers and Lynne Williams (David); his grandchildren, Carly, Matthew Chambers, Megan and Matthew Williams; his siblings, Arthur Chambers, Jr. (Barbara Ann Schlosser) and Ruth Chambers Schlosser (Roger "Buzz" Schlosser); and his stepmother Eula Chambers (Barnhart). He is also survived by three great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in Roy's name to the American Lung Association.
