He is survived by: his wife Catherine Marie Browder DeChalus; his children, Reginel DeChalus (Joyce Rothrock) of Gaithersburg, Tyrone DeChalus of Smyrna, Georgia, Roscoe DeChalus (Revita) of Bartlett, Catherine DeChalus of Hagerstown and Sheila DeChalus-Campbell (Christian) of Chambersburg, Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Michelle DeChalus, Alicia Hayes (Billy), Reginel, Julie, Darnell, Lionell, Noellemarie DeChalus, Christian, Joshua Campbell, Donald DeChalus, Jr., Nohelani DeChalus, Cordatra Payne (Cory) and Christopher Owens (CJ); his great grandchildren, Gabriel, Micah Diaw, J'Vaughn DeChalus, Jawuan, Jelaysia, Jennifer, Julian Hayes, Reginel DeChalus, Kharma, Jabari Barkley, Darby and Cooper Bashaw; his sister Charlotte Dicks (Essix) of Upper Marlboro; and his daughter-in-law Mindy DeChalus-Holmes of Charles Town.
