She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert L. Jarnagin and Edith Rawlings Jarnagin; her husband Robert Braden Hammond; and her sister Jeri Bain. She is survived by: her children, Kathy L. Simmons (Tom) of Keedysville, MD, Robert G. "Greg" Hammond of Chincoteague, VA and Gary J. Hammond of Parkton, MD. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
